Feeling the power of role models and paying tribute to the spirit of striving upward. On the evening of April 9th at 7 PM, the College of Mining held the Growing Towards the Sun, Walking with Light National Scholarship Sharing and Exchange Meeting in Room 303 of Liyi Building. The meeting was attended by Chen Xingshuai, Deputy Party Secretary of the College of Mining, and over 100 student representatives.
The sharing session invited five students: Chen Guilan, He Yan, Cao Hongfei, Xie Honggao, and Ding Yunna, to share their experiences. During the exchange, they discussed their insights and reflections on course learning, scientific research competitions, student work, and social practice. They guided junior students on how to manage their time, set goals, and create action plans for their university life. Cao Hongfei encouraged everyone to strive and be bold, using the theme If you don't have the fortune to win by lying down, then stand up and run. He Yan suggested actively participating in research competitions to enhance practical skills. Chen Guilan advised on balancing research and coursework by prioritizing tasks. Additionally, graduate students Xie Honggao and Ding Yunna shared the differences between undergraduate and graduate studies and enthusiastically answered questions on scientific writing, journal papers, and other academic issues, sparking interest in scientific research among the students.
At the meeting, Chen Xingshuai, Deputy Party Secretary of the college, delivered a speech on the university's financial aid policies, providing a detailed introduction to our school's system for nurturing students through financial support. He encouraged students to be grateful for the opportunities they receive, aspire to lofty goals, and become strivers in the new era.

Through this sharing session, students were inspired and guided by role models to carefully plan their university goals, strive with determination, and courageously move forward. It aimed to help them find their own path in life that aligns with their aspirations.
